Map tab

The Map tab on the Options window contains settings relating to the world map in the Control Center.

Size of twilight zone
Determines how wide in % the area is between day and night on the Control Center Map

Show place markers on map
Will show or hide the tags that display the name of the place that is closest to the mouse pointer.

Show map slices for time zones
Will show or hide the map slice that represents the time zone of the selected location when the mouse moves over the map.

Appearance of Time Zone Slice
Lets you change border color, fill color and transparency of the Time Zones that appear when the mouse moves over the map.

The Dynamic box applies to the appearance of the time zones when they are not locked in. They appear dynamically as you move your mouse over the map.

The Locked in box applies to the appearance of the time zones when they are locked in, which is after you clicked on the map or made a selection from the list.

The Interior buttons open up a color dialog box that lets you change the fill colors of the time zones.

The Border buttons open up a color dialog box that lets you change the border colors of the time zones.

Opacity
The opacity values determine how transparent the time zone map slices are. 100% is equal to opaque, 0% is equal to fully transparent which is the same as invisible.

Performance and Resources (Advanced)

Automatically refresh map every … minutes
Lets you change how often the map’s day and night time view is being calculated. Older systems may show performance decrease if this value is set too low. If the value is too high, the map may not show an up to date picture. The default value is 5 minutes.

Fast Control Center access (recommended)
If this box is not ticked, the Control Center will fully shut down when closed and the screen has to be re-calculated every time it is opened again. This will free up some memory and background processes but it will take longer to open the Control Center.

If the box is ticked, the Control Center will be on standby when closed and will keep the map up to date, so it is quickly available again.

Allow splash screen
If this box is not ticked the splash screen will not show when the Control Center is opened.
